I renewed this domain, even though I hardly use it the $9 a year to maintain it s fine by me. I couldn’t give up this domain no matter how much I really thought about it. There have been domains that I’ve lost interest in completely and just let it die – I can’t bring myself to do that here.

I still haven’t started on the new template for this site so I’m going to ask something of any visitor that’s still floating around… If you happen to come across a free theme that blends well with the technology/business kind of a theme – please feel free to comment and send me a link towards it. Hell, if I like it enough I’ll even list you in the credits. I don’t have the time to float around blogs or template sites to see what’s “in” right now. I have to say I’m really out of the loop with A LOT of things. Anyone interested in helping me get back into it?

So I got pretty lucky. I was able to figure out what was wrong with the old installation of Wordpress. I exported the posts and categories and now I’ve moved everything over to a new fresh installation and everything appears to be working just fine now. I’m still going to have to work on a few things. I have absolutely no new articles to write up. I don’t currently have a theme setup either, and I’m going to have to do everything I get the plugins back up and running. Either way I imagine it’ll take me a while to complete everything. Maybe I’ll have some time this weekend where I can begin getting everything accomplished.

So for now, this site is still on hiatus but as you can see – it’s been nothing but problems in order to get things back up and running!

I’ve been through numerous blogging platforms over the years but none of them have continued to impress me the way Wordpress has. Their built in spam options have proven to be a pretty cool deal but even their spam options are no match for the new series of spammers on the internet. I’m unsure of their official name but I call them the copy and pasters. They come to your website, copy a line of YOUR blog article and paste it into the comments section of your forms. They then go through the task of writing their name, email and url to publish the comment. This way they figure they can get past the spam blockers. What many people don’t realize about all of my websites is that all comments are held in moderation until I approve them myself. Why? Because not only do I have random messages from people who just can’t let go of the past, I’m now dealing with morons who insist that it’s a great idea to include my blog entry in my comments.

Why do such a thing? Get a life!

Thanks to Fantastico finally being upgraded on the servers, I’m now using Wordpress 2.5.1. It only took about 10 seconds to upgrade but that’s the beauty of auto-install programs. With the upgrade came updates for about 20 of the 35+ plugins that this domain uses. Thankfully everything is automatic there too so what I thought was going to be a daunting task of downloading all of the .ZIPs and then uploading manually – it was actually quite simple and only required the click of a mouse. That’s always a good thing.

I’m in the process of updating my portfolio. I have my resume updated but I need to get a few images pasted into my portfolio so hopefully I’ll be able to accomplish that sometime within the next hour or so. I have to send out my resume to three different companies, hopefully at least one of them will actually give me something in return. It’s my goal to make enough to have a new car by September, so I’ll cross my fingers there.

As far as this domain is concerned – I have a lot of articles to type up. I’ve been product testing for the past couple of weeks and I have to say I absolutely love the new technology I’ve been introduced to. I’ll have more on them later – I also intend to complete the PC Tips articles that I began writing a few weeks ago. I know I’ve been slacking here but I have been busy with a lot of different projects and just work in general so naturally something was going to fall behind. I’m working on getting back on track though. Expect to see about 10 articles over the course of the next couple days.

When I get a little bored, I like to float around the Internet to other Design websites so I can check out my competition. It keeps me on my toes and gives me an insight as to what clients currently want so I can focus my attention on learning the new tricks of the trade. Doing things this way has helped me to build a pretty unique portfolio over the years. Today I came across a website called Stylish Design, it’s The blog where web design and style have met. At first I thought I was going to come across a site, much like my own, where the main focus is the technology related blog and then web design solutions are offered in a different part. Eventually the design aspect of the site will over-power the domain but for now I’m content with how things currently are.

Stylish Design isn’t like that though. I was expecting to find templates and what-not but the site houses well written articles about many aspects of the Interweb, It’s primarily a seo blog offering up tips and tricks on how to properly get your site out there. A popular site isn’t just based on the beautiful design, it’s based on proper content with well written articles and that’s something that many bloggers are now starting to realize. The authors at Stylish Design have had this in their mindset since the beginning of their blog and have since written wonderful articles about everything you could need to know about the Internet. From SEO to Page Ranks and CSS and what-not in between – I’m sure you’ll find something of interest. Their design concept (in my opinion) is a little plain but minimalist is the IN thing so that works well for them. Their focus is on the content, and they do a pretty damn good job of it.

I’m coming pretty close to completing the template I’ve been working on. I still need to get all of the content pages worked in, so that may take me some time. I’m down-sizing a lot of things so I can weed out all of the boring old-school work and I’m leaving tons of room for all of the newer style templates that seem to be making an imprint on people lately. The blog template itself will still look like a standard blog page, of course, it’s just going to be so technical looking that you’ll think you’re sitting on CNN.com and not some wimpy blog.

I’m looking to join a few blogrolls and some other sites to get my name out there a little more. At it’s prime this domain averaged 5,000 hits a day and now it’s down to a very low 1,200. While some people still don’t reach that number, I know that there’s a lot more that I could be doing to get myself back up to where I used to be. It’s certainly a goal of mine, it’s just going to take a little bit of time – that’s all.

For the past couple of days I’ve been working on a new template for AGn Designs. For me it’s finally the ultimate way of getting my portfolio and my blog merged together in a way that hasn’t been done before. I’ve been meaning to do something like this for quite some time but I’ve been unable to due to a lack of confidence in my coding abilities I guess. Either way I have everything drawn out and plenty of new features to work into it. It’s going to take me a little while to finish configuring everything but I have to say that I’m really, really happy about it. Lets just hope it turns out as well as it’s supposed to.
