I haven’t updated here in quite some time and it’s completely due to the fact that my life offline is dramatically different than it was in the past. I now have the time to finally sit down and blog since I’ve gotten used to my new schedule. I’m working full time hours during the week and on the weekends I always seemed to be busy doing other things so sitting down to update a blog was never really worth it to me. I do have some more time now though. It’s my goal to begin making some drastic changes here in upcoming weeks. I do not care about the paid blogging world anymore – I went out and got a real job instead of sitting on my ass talking about products that I’ve never actually used before. There will still be reviews and opinions coming through here, but it will be real product reviews based on first hand experience. I’m hoping to be able to add a new toy to my collection but that can’t happen until another 6 people are nice enough to help me out with it anyway.

But for now I’ll just say that I will be posting here a lot more often. I’m hoping to get back on track with a few of my other sites as well. This is more of an ‘intro’ post just to get the ball rolling again. I honestly never thought I’d go six months with absolutely nothing to say here, but that’s the way the ball rolls I guess.

Today I came across something pretty interesting. The topic of stem-cell research is a hot-blooded issue with many people, none of which who seem to care about the female’s perspective of things. Men are too thrown into the world where they think they own everything, when it comes to the female body – however – the issue is much larger and females don’t seem to be at liberty to discuss it openly. This goes back to the Neanderthal times when women were supposed to obey and the men ruled the world. Well, to be honest, screw you if you think like that.

So where’s this coming from? I came across a website for Cryo-Cell Innovative Stem Cell Solutions and I have to say that I whole-heartedly 100% agree with their logic. It’s a very simple logic too, Cryo-Cell’s “Protect Baby, Protect Mom”. Umbilical cord blood stem cells are a 100% match for the child, and there’s also a 1 in 4 chance that your newborns cord is a match for siblings as well. Stem cells have been used in over 8000 transplants worldwide and has treated over 70 diseases. So while it’s still considered an experimental procedure, I really don’t understand why everyone looks down upon it? The government can spend billions of dollars on a war we’re not even supposed to be in but they can’t kick some money aside to help the future of our country? If a child dies due to something that’s easily fixable (found through this research) why is the mother just supposed to deal with the loss of a child knowing that it would have been 100% possible to change the outcome of the situation? Yes, an experiment is an experiement but if there are documented cases of this working – what’s to experiment?

Now, I don’t see myself having children – mainly because I can’t stand other peoples kids, why would I want my own? However, there are some people out there that were just made to be parents, so here’s something for you if you fit in that category. “Protect Baby, Protect Mom” Special Limited-Time Introductory Offer. If you’ve ever stored cord blood stem cells with any bank (privately or publicly), you can qualify for Cryo-Cell’s Returning Client Pricing. With their offer, you can receive two services for less than the price of one. It’s alot to read into, it’s a lot of money to be spent, but take the time to look through everything they have to offer, if you’re truly interested in protecting your children than this is the route to take.

I’ve finally decided on the route I’m going to take when it comes to picking up a new cell phone within the next couple of months. For a while I was really leaning towards the Apple iPhone but I’m starting to believe that it’s more or less just a fad that’s eventually going to pass. However, the iPhone knock-off’s really aren’t that bad. I’ve been shopping around and I’m thinking of going with either the Samsung Glide or the LG Dare, hosted by Verizon of respectively. While many people dislike Verizon, I have to say that my experience with them in the past wasn’t half bad.

I had a two year contract with them and my phone really didn’t have a vast amount of excess features that I would never use. My only issue was in regards to text messaging. None of my friends like to talk on the phone anymore, they prefer to go completely through text messages and when you’re on a prepaid plan it’s kind of hard to keep throwing money onto the phone couple of weeks. Granted, it takes me about a month to really need to add service in which case it only costs me $20 but when you use the phone strictly for emergencies and you’re left with no minutes at the end of the month it really can be a hassle.

So what do you do? This situation may only work out well for me, not too sure about my readers. I only ever have the phone on me when I’m driving. There are some people out there who use it as their sole form of communication – something I see no point in considering there’s always a land-line around me (I work from home, remember?) However, being as my friends are text-message fanatics, my minutes are still eaten up.

So my intent is go sign up with Verizon Wireless, getting the $39.99 a month plan that includes unlimited in network calling, as well as nights and weekends (starting at 9:01PM – it’s not 9PM that’s how they screw you). With that plan, I’ll spend an extra $10 a month and sign up for the unlimited data option which gives me the ability to send as many text messages and photos as I please. I’m not really someone who goes out of my way to snap pictures and send them to friends, but there are times when you go past something really cool looking that’s worth documenting and you don’t seem to have a camera on you. Now, my digital is small enough where it can fit in my purse, but what’s the point of carrying it with me when I’m really never going to use it? It’s always in my purse when I never need it, and never in my purse when I do. My cellphone, however, is always with me. So I believe this would be the perfect option for me.

So I sat down and did the math. While Sean really wants to have a cell phone, if I’m the only one who’s leaving the house to go to work then there’s no real point in him having one (at this moment in time). So I’m going to sign up for the $39.99 a month plan, and purchase the LG Voyager. It gives me a full keyboard to keep up with text messages, something I really happen to like when you really read into things. It also only costs $100 for those signing up with a 2-year contract. With the addition to the $39.99 package, I’ll be spending $10 a month on 500 sms/picture messages which includes unlimited IN NETWORK messages. Anyone I’d message is with Verizon so it wouldn’t cost me a dime to talk to them. The $0.99 monthly charge for ring-back tones is appealing, and spending $1.99 on a detailed bill just seems worth it to me so I can keep track of exactly where everything is going.

So my monthly cost (before taxes) would be around $55. That’s not too bad considering I’m basically paying for unlimited resources (based solely on the fact that all phone calls and texts will be made in-network). Cool huh?

I’ve been through numerous blogging platforms over the years but none of them have continued to impress me the way Wordpress has. Their built in spam options have proven to be a pretty cool deal but even their spam options are no match for the new series of spammers on the internet. I’m unsure of their official name but I call them the copy and pasters. They come to your website, copy a line of YOUR blog article and paste it into the comments section of your forms. They then go through the task of writing their name, email and url to publish the comment. This way they figure they can get past the spam blockers. What many people don’t realize about all of my websites is that all comments are held in moderation until I approve them myself. Why? Because not only do I have random messages from people who just can’t let go of the past, I’m now dealing with morons who insist that it’s a great idea to include my blog entry in my comments.

Why do such a thing? Get a life!

With a very small balance in my bank account I’ve been taking my limited resources and still managing to maintain a clean environment. I’m to the point where I’m low on supplies such as bleach, toilet bowl cleaners, sponges, detergent, fabric softener and other basic supplies. So what do you do? Go to Walmart and hope to bring home the cheapest items on the shelf just to get the job done? NO! – You go to the local Dollar Tree and pick up all of your supplies for $1 a piece. The reason I love this store is everything is actually a dollar. It’s not like the $0.99 cent stores that you walk into where the only thing that’s $0.99 is a piece of candy. No, you can pick up everything from cleaning supplies to school supplies and purchase these items in bulk for the wonderful price of $1 OR 10 for $1. That’s $0.10c a piece, how could you NOT love that?

So in order for me to completely clean the house all week long it’s costing me exactly $10 every two weeks. Every other Monday I head down and pick up some bleach, sponges (10pk), laundry detergent, fabric softener sheets (50 pack), toilet drop-ins, air freshener spray, the air freshener gel and maybe a candle or two just to keep things smelling clean and fresh. Let’s not forget the ever-so-important paper towels and tissues. So yes, it’s shopping on a budget that’s keeping me up to speed on cleaning the house without breaking the bank.

My only issue is with the toilet drop-ins. They aren’t the name brand, you lift the lid off the back of the bowl and drop in the little blue disk. Unfortunately it doesn’t hold up as well as they’re supposed to and the one I recently purchased wound up exploding in the bowl. Not to the point that it like blew pieces all over the place, it just happened to break down in huge chunks instead of slowly getting smaller and the turn out is bits and pieces of this blue solution shooting out whenever you flush the toilet. There are sections of blue that are now so stuck that I can’t even get to them to remove them so we’ve been flushing the toilet a little bit more just to loosen things up. I figure if I throw another one in there it’ll move things along and hopefully put things back in less – odd – order. The one in there is still doing it’s job properly, I still clean the bowl every three days, it’s just a pain in the butt having to get myself in there to try to dig out the piece that’s still causing all of the trouble – you know?

Eventually it will completely dissolve and I’ll be able to finally get rid of the ugly blue section that it’s leaving but for now it’s no big deal.

The past couple of days have been on the “blah” side. I know that isn’t really a descriptive term but it’s the only way to really give you the general feel of how things are going. It’s been raining for the past four days (on and off) and it’s beginning to take it’s toll on just about everyone. It’s hard to want to stay awake when there’s no sun shine to keep your attention, you know? Sure, I’ve done A LOT of cleaning over the course of the last couple of days but that still doesn’t balance out the lack of time I’ve been able to spend outside because of all the wind and the rain. Thankfully the system will be moving out of the area for a couple of days but there’s another one behind it. I guess the saying is true – April showers bring May flowers. If it were nice enough to actually get outside and plant something I would, hence my problem!

I can’t wait until the sun pops out, I really can’t. I’ve been waiting on it for quite a few days, and I think even Bella has been effected by it, she hasn’t spent much time outside either and she just looks so bored. Her schedule is way off, she seems so unhappy. She just sits in the window and mopes around – I hate that. I wish I had some kind of a cover for her so I could actually bring her outside and her not get sick from the wind and the rain. Heck, I think she’d be content if we just had a screened in porch or something, honestly.

Oh well, the sun will shine soon enough….right?

Sean and I have set many goals for our relationship, so many that we’re probably going to need to win the lottery in order to achieve them all. Our biggest goal is to travel across the USA, making it a point to stop in every single state before returning home. We admit that it’s going to be a long trip, probably taking a few months to complete, but if we’re financially stable enough to accomplish it, then that’s the route we’re going to take. I’m still hoping to win that $46 Million PowerBALL Jackpot but I doubt that will ever happen. If it did happen, I already know exactly where I’d like to purchase property to build a custom home on. I also know I’m going to be spending some money on a fully loaded RV, how else am I going to travel the USA?

We’ll start by going South through Maryland and Virginia, eventually making it to Florida. We’ll then head towards Texas because I’ve always loved the idea of visiting there. I may even look into picking up National Rodeo Finals tickets because you can’t get more Texas than that!

From Texas we’ll work our way around to Arizona so I can visit Jackie for a couple of days and then we’ll take the trip to Vegas because I know for sure I’ve got free rooms at Harrah’s and Ceaser’s so that’s definitely worth the trip! After that we’ll work our way to both Northern and Southern California, we have friends and family to visit there. We’ll then take the “high route” through the mountains and head home. We’ll basically be weaving through everything but I’m certain we’ll get a lot of great scenery loaded into our digital cameras, and we’re making it a point to visit all of the best local shops. I’m not going to travel the US to live off fast food, I want to go where the locals go. I also want to know what’s so great about Chicago Pizza. I’m a New York girl, nothing can compare!

So yes, I’m going to travel the US with Sean and Bella, maybe even a second dog depending on the size of the RV and my ability to walk into a shelter and only walk out with ONE dog. That may be hard to accomplish, but I’ll do it.

Now, I just need to win the lotto, don’t I?

For the past few hours a few different phone numbers have been calling the house. Originally I thought it was merely a prank but supposedly I’m not the only one receiving these phone calls. If you see any of the numbers show up on your caller ID, please be sure to avoid answering the phone. These numbers have been widely known for calling up to 15 times per day, and based on a few of the threads I’ve found in regards to it, a lot of people are effected by it. I’m going to log into comcast in a few moments and block these numbers from calling. If you’re looking for more information, please head over to 888notes.com and read a bit more about it. They never say why they’re calling, you’re lucky if someone even responds to your saying “Hello?”. Just make it a point to block these numbers before they even start calling you.

The numbers are:

Quebec (514) 555-5555
Florida (727) 585-4752
Florida (727) 683-0725
California (408) 731-7348

On my ID the first number didn’t show up as Quebec, it showed up as “Purdy, D”. I have yet to get any calls from the other numbers, but that really doesn’t matter too much right now. I have to say that I can blame Vonage for this because they tend to allow you to have a phone number anywhere you please as long as you pay them, all VoIP phones tend to let you choose what area code you prefer. For all I know these calls could actually be coming from a man up the block.

Either way it’s a good idea to block the numbers, if you have the ability. Get in touch with your telephone provider before it gets to the point of being utterly annoying.

And with that said, guess who’s phone is freaking ringing again?! UGH!

I just loaded the bookmark on the car that I’m looking to buy to find out that it’s been sold. It hurts to know that I’m not getting the one I truly wanted but this isn’t going to stop me from earning enough money to go out and buy one. Sean said he saw me more in a black car than a blue one, so now it’s my mission to locate a black Chevy Cobalt and hope to not have to pay through the nose for it. I’m really not looking for anything too extravagant, I just know that for the last few years I’ve always seen myself driving a Cobalt so there’s no question that it’s the one I’m going to put all of my focus into. I won’t get the same awesome deal that I’d already found, but who knows what’s going to be around when I do finally have the money to put towards it. Maybe I’ll just float around on cars.com for a little while longer to have the ability to bookmark another potential car – eh?

I’m really behind today but that’s based on how late I went to sleep last night (about 5am). I woke up around 1:30 and while I would typically take a shower as soon as I get up, I was just too cold this afternoon to get around to it. During the week I have a block of shows that I watch and then around 5 I can get back around to the real-life end of things. So right now I’m almost 2 hours into the shows, and I’ve gotten a lot of work done as well. I multi-task with the shows on in the background, it’s not like I’m vegging out on the couch or anything.

So I’ll get through my series of British shows and then hop in the shower, bolt out the door and get my day started. I want to head down to the beauty shop and pick up a proper lightening kit for Sean, he tries to do things himself so his hair is beyond messed up. From there I’ll swing into Hallmark and find out if they’ve looked into my application yet. After that it’s a quick stop into the supermarket to pick up some buns and then I’ll come back here and get dinner on the grill. I insist upon barbecuing tonight. I know it’s a little chilly but I really am craving a burger and I don’t like the idea of putting it on the electric griddle in the kitchen. Everything in this house is powered by electric and I have to say it tastes horrible when you’re trying to cook something that really needs some kind of fire behind it, you know?
